Welcome to Druids Lodge Holidays
Druids Lodge offers excellent self-catering
accommodation in the small and attractive village of Hopesay, within
the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Lodge is just off the Shropshire Way and a short
distance to Ludlow, the famous market town, and the Longmynd Hills.
In addition, Stokesay Castle and many other fine historic sites and
buildings, and long-distance walking routes are just a few minutes
drive away.
It is also conveniently situated for public
transport, with a train station and bus stop within a couple of
miles (we can advise if you would like to visit while leaving your
car at home). The nearby village of Aston-on-Clun also has
a garage, shop and public house. Organic Produce is available
from a local farm.
There are two individual apartments available
throughout the year, details of which are below. Both are fully
furnished with all conveniences, including cooker, fridge,
microwave, satellite TV and connected to a central fire-alarm
system. There is ample parking space at the Lodge. Bedding is
provided at the start of your stay.

Corndon
Corndon is a recently refurbished ground floor apartment
that accommodates two people. The living / bedroom with double
bed has direct access to the patio terrace, which
has superb views. There is a separate kitchen, bathroom and
hall way.

South Shropshire Attractions
Druids Lodge provides an excellent base from
which to explore the historic sites and countryside of South
Shropshire.
Stokesay Castle is the finest
and best preserved 13th-century fortified manor house in
England. 10 minutes drive.
Ludlow
Castle , medieval castle with dark and
interesting history. Once home to Richard III and then Prince
Arthur (Henry VIII's older brother) and his wife,
Catherine of Aragon. 20 minutes drive.
Acton Scott Historic Working Farm is one of Britain's leading working farm museums. It
featured in the recent BBC 2 series 'Victorian Farm'.
15 minutes drive.
The Shropshire Way - not only
the finest route around the Shropshire Hills Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty, but also offer the best possible
set of day walks. A stone's throw.
Powys
Castle - home of Robert Clive (of India), with good
collection of paintings and Indian artifacts.

South Shropshire Flora and
Fauna
Druids Lodge is within a designated Area of Outstand
Natural Beauty, which includes a number of sites of
special scientific interest.
Birds spotted recently in the immediate
vicinity, so far this year, include Red Kite, Goshawk, Wood
Lark, Pied and Spotted Flycatchers, Whitethroat and Osprey (in
passage).

Clunbury
Clunbury offers ground floor accommodation and
contains a double bedroom, single bedroom, kitchen, living
room, bathroom and reception area. Includes use of an outside
terrace area.

Druids Lodge is within a comfortable 20
minutes drive of three beautiful and historic market
towns.
An architectural gem, with its castle and
medieval and Georgian buildings, Ludlow is one of the most
attractive towns in England and famous for its
restaurants..
Church Stretton : a friendly
market town in the centre of the Shropshire Hills.
Bishop's Castle , a historic
market town in the Welsh Marches. Excellent pubs and
walking.
Finally, Shrewsbury, the County Town of
Shropshire, is well worth a visit too.

Discounts for longer stays. Weekend / shorter rentals also available
- just ask for details. The same rates apply to Corndon and
Clunbury. The accommodation is only available during the periods
